For example, UVVis spectroscopy is commonly used to measure absorbance in colored solutions, while IR spectroscopy helps in identifying functional groups in organic compounds. NMR reveals the structural details of molecules, particularly in organic chemistry. Spectroscopy is also essential in astronomy, where it allows the analysis of distant stars and galaxies based on the light they emit. Overall, spectroscopy provides a non-destructive and highly sensitive method to explore the invisible details of the natural world.
